The Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party Shopian Unit had convened a Block level meeting at Rakh-Narapora, Block Keller Shopian. The meeting was chaired by Party Spokesperson & General Secretary Youth Wing Irfan Manhas who is also DDC Vice Chairperson Shopian. The other leaders present included District Vice President Mohammad Ahsan Paul, District Advisor Gh. Nabi Matipora, District Organiser Manzoor Bashir, District Coordinator Zakir Hussain, Zonal President Shopian & DDC Keller 1st Ch. The meeting was convened to strengthen the party cadre on ground level. The meeting saw an active exchange of suggestions between the leaders and the party workers. During the interaction, the workers raised various issues with the party leaders to which the leaders assured to take up the same with the relevant authorities for an early redressal. The leaders apprised the workers to gear up for upcoming elections and also urged the workers to connect with people across the nook and corner of the District.

Following the meeting, the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party saw a mega joining programme during which more than a dozen hardcore members previously associated with different political parties, including PDP, NC and BJP joined Apni Party in presence of Party Spokesperson and other leaders.

Today marked a significant visit by DDC Farisal Mr. Anayatullah Rather to waltengu Kund Kulgam, where he extended his heartfelt condolences and support to the families of the laborers tragically lost in a recent road accident in Himachal Pradesh. During this solemn visit, Mr. Anayatullah Rather personally visited the residences of the deceased, expressing profound sympathy and solidarity with the grieving families.

Acknowledging the manifold challenges faced by the people of waltengu Kund, Mr. Anayatullah Rather underscored the plight and hardships experienced by the community. Reflecting upon the catastrophic blizzard that struck Waltengo on February 22, 2005, causing widespread devastation, the government had made promises to provide shelters and houses to the affected residents. Regrettably, these assurances remain unfulfilled, leaving the people of Waltengo in continued hardship and uncertainty till this day.
