In light of these results, the newly elected officials are scheduled to solemnly swear into their respective positions tomorrow, the 27th of December, 2023, at 2 p.m., signifying the commencement of their roles in leading the Anantnag Bar Association.

Handwara, Dec 20: The Handwara Media Association elections witnessed an epic battle between the candidates contesting for the President post, which however culminated with both of them securing equal number of votes, here on Wednesday.
The elections for the Association were held at TRC Kargama under the supervision of Farooq Bhat, Sagar Gulzar, Raja Akbar and Aijaz Manzar – who acted as election observers to ensure a free and fair process.
In an interesting turn of events, Syed Kabir Geelani (ANN), Tarique Raheem (Greater Kashmir) contesting for President Post saw their fortunes fluctuating, while the fulcrum finally settling with both of them securing fourteen votes each – out of a total of 28 votes.
It was unanimously decided by the election body to let the candidates head the Association for a term of six months each – with Syed Kabir Geelani getting the post for the first six months.
Notably, the Association was previously headed by Aatif Qayoom from Rising Kashmir.
For the post of Vice President, Syed Imtiyaz (City Reporter) prevailed over his rivals and secured a total of fifteen votes from the quota of 28 votes. Mudabir Tantray on the other hand secured 9 with Ayoub Khan and Ashiq Sheikh bagging nine votes each.
For the post of General Secretary, Aadil Akbar ( JKupdates , Punjab Kesari , JKAC News Network ) bagged seventeen votes, while his nearest rival Javid Ahmad Meer bagged eleven votes.
